My family, the Salvanelli family, came to this country from Ostra, Ancona, Italy – the Marche region of Italy that borders the Adriatic. The Salvanelli’s, like millions of others, left behind their family, their language, and their home. Fortunately, they brought with them their love of Italian food. The dishes from the heart and soul of my Nonna Lena’s kitchen were authentic Italian specialties, devoured with gusto by all who sat at her table – including me!
